Had a great time hosting the Open Mic at the Java Good last night. Wonderful performances, originals and covers, by Bob Grover, Alyssa D., Ike from KU (shown here on the left), Phil Stahl ... A couple of spontaneous duos - A fun jazzy spontaneous duo with myself and Ike on "Moondance", scat included! ... and myself and a customer on the beautiful "Ooh Ooh Child" ... Nice conversation and stories with Bob, Alyssa, Ike, Cathy Sweeney, Sue, Phil ... An evening of good music, spirit, and warmth. We're looking for another venue to continue the "All Ages, Original Compositions and Live Collaboration Encouraged, Music and Spoken Word Open Mic Extravaganza!" Heartfelt thanks to all the performers, especially the songwriters and the young performers, listeners, and the Java Good for a nice and successful run there. Peace, Tom

This Holiday Music Season I was fortunate enough to contribute music at Ridge Valley UCC (Dec 14), Salem United Methodist (Dec 21), and St. Mark's Lutheran (Dec 28). Thanks to all these great communities, especially the pastors and music directors. Happy Holidays and Peace to All!
Thanks to Pastor Steve Myren, Music Co-Directors Robin and Nick, and all the performers and members at Ridge Valley. What a warm and talented community. I contributed "Breath of Heaven" to the festivities. Happy Holidays to All.
A wow! of an open mic tonight at Java Good Day Cafe on Fri Dec 5th! Check out this review of the night! Hope to see you there on First Fridays in East Greenville, PA 7:00-10:00 pm.
A nice surprise birthday bash and open mic at the Bally Hotel for Phil Stahl on the 3rd. So many friends and musicians showed up to say hi and thanks to Phil for his tireless efforts in creating local music scenes in eastern PA!
A nice stop-in at Phil Stahl's open mic at the Wingman Saturday evening. Phil sounded great as usual, as did keyboard player Wes and Bob Grover etc. I played my original "The Prodigal Friend", some blues, Josh Ritter's "Girl in the War" and Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On". I'm having fun with this last song. It offers endless challenges and choices! A fun time!
A wow! of an open mic tonight at Java Good Day Cafe tonight. Check out this review of the awesome night! Hope to see you there on First Fridays in East Greenville, PA 7:00-10:00 pm.
Thanks to St. Mark's Lutheran in Pennsburg, PA for the chance to praise with song today at both services. Especially Music Director, the always hard-working, gracious and talented, Judy Love. I contributed Ricky Manalo's hypnotic "Many and Great", performed here by the St. Brendan Choirs in Los Angeles (the song starts at about 1:50 in). For you musicians and audiophiles out there, the song's melody is based on the simple and magical pentatonic scale. The chords and harmony offer a broad, chord-extended palette where overtones and colors mix and swirl ... :-)
A wonderful service at Salem United Methodist in Pottstown this morning, Oct 5th. Thanks to friend Pastor Tim Stewart and his congregation for the chance to praise with music. I played Los Lobos' rootsy, hip "Saint Behind the Glass" and Ricky Manalo's warm and beautiful "Many and Great".
